Gun Kata and Other things

I've been in a World of Warcraft-insipred haze for the past month or so. I'm now a level 50 mage, and I've been considering creating an alt (priest or paladin, haven't decided yet). But now I'm finding that my interest is waning. I'm at that point in the game where basically everything you do requires a group, and all the groups I end up in suck ass. Here's a typical group experience for me:

Me: LFG for Mara, Ulda, ZF.

...30 minutes and 20 repetitions of the above later...

Level20Warrior: I'll join!!111!1!!

Me: No. You're too low.

Level20Warrior: Fuck j00!!!!

Level45Paladin: Still looking for a group?

Me: Yes please.

Level45Paladin: Ok. Call me when you get one.

Level47Druid: Can I have 2 g? I need to buy some armor.

...Eventually, through the grace of the gods, I get a group together. We trek to the instance.

Warrior: Hey, are we gonna do the quest that gives you the gem? I need the gem.

Warrior: So are we?

Warrior: I need the gem.

Warrior: It's for a class quest.

Warrior: I need it.

Warrior: Are we gonna do it?

Me: YES!!! Chill.

Priest: Shit, I gotta go.
Priest has disconnected.

...Another 20 minutes or so, and we get another healer. Into the instance we go.

Warrior: Is this where the gem is? Which way is the gem?

Rogue: Need rolls plate armor

Pally: What the hell?

Rogue: I need money! I'm brokez0rz!

Pally: Only roll need on stuff you can actually use, jackass.

Rogue: Fuck j00!!!111!!!!11!

Rogue has left the group

Pally: Man, screw this. You all are a bunch of n00bs.

Pally has left the group

Warrior: Can we still get the gem?

By this time, it's now 11:30, and I need to go to sleep.

Now, I realize that a lot of the above probably doesn't make sense if you're not a WoW geek like me. Trust me, it's totally lame.

But, on the off chance that you are a WoW geek, do you have any advice?

The good news is, since I wasn't playing WoW this weekend, I got to see Night Watch, a Russian fantasy/sci-fi flick about vampires 'n shit. I actually liked it a lot. One of my favorite aspects was what they did with the subtitles -- they kind of fade in and out and change colors at points to reflect the mood or attitude of the speaker. It's a pretty neat idea, and I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been used more often.

I also saw about 20 minutes of some flick called Equilibrium, which seemed to be some kind of dystopian deal invovling lots of guns and fighting. And, most interestingly, fighting with guns. According to the imdb page there, it's some invented martial art form called "gun kata", which apparently involves shooting people while posing like a ninja. It's the best of both worlds, really. I plan to see the rest of it, even though it was written and directed by the same guy who did "Ultraviolet".

Find a guild.

Which will probably be the same level of discourse, but with shorter waits for groups and far fewer disconnects.

Yeah, guild is the solution once you get to level 50. Otherwise, the grouping becomes too crappy.

The secret of the tetragrammaton clerics, yo. That's what's waiting for you in the second half of Equilibrium.

Man, Mikey, you have no idea. Speaking of Kung Faux, has there been a new one of those released yet?

Ok, I do have a guild, but it pretty much sucks. Besides me, there's only like 2 other guys above level 50. One of whom seems to ignore the guild entirely. So I guess that means it's time to find a new guild.
